🌱 Plant Characteristics: This perennial herbaceous plant is well-known in cut flower circles as an excellent filler for mixed flower arrangements and bouquets. It produces small, 2 to 2-1/2" yellow flowers on thin wiry stems, complemented by chartreuse leaves that enhance its visual appeal.
🌱 Growing Conditions: Thriving in warm climates with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 30°C, Bupleurum prefers well-drained, fertile soil with good drainage. While it tolerates drought well, consistent soil moisture during the growing season is beneficial.
🌱 Medicinal and Ornamental Uses: Besides its ornamental value, Bupleurum is a traditional Chinese medicinal herb, commonly known as Chai Hu or Radix Bupleuri. It is also cultivated for use in cut flower arrangements due to its unique appearance and durability.
🌱 Planting Instructions: Bupleurum Seeds can be sown using either drill or broadcast methods. Drill seeding involves creating shallow furrows, evenly sowing the seeds, and covering them with soil. Broadcasting scatters the seeds evenly on the soil surface before covering them. Maintain appropriate seed density for optimal growth.
